What is interesting to me, is the conflict between Ginny’s mother and father when it comes to Ginny marrying Linus. From the start, it is a weird concept. Linus is Ginny’s mother’s cousin after all. What we find out shortly after is more disturbing; Ginny is only 14. This speaks volumes of Linus’ character already, trying to court a far underaged, second cousin. Ginny’s father, although hesitant, does not stop her from leaving. I find this almost as odd as I find Ginny’s mother being fine with it. I’m sure later in the book we will hear something more about Ginny’s parents, despite her saying she never saw them again after their visit.
